Environment
Be it a construction project, mining sand and gravel, or manufacturing asphalt pavement materials, we operate in an environmentally responsible manner with concern for the environment.
We do more than just abide by the environmental regulations. We strive to be a good neighbor to our current as well as future generations of neighbors.
This has lead us to be a Climate Action Leader in the California Climate Action Registry. By measuring our Green House Gases we are learning how best to reduce them.
We are testing a process called Warm Mix Asphalt which reduces the air emissions created when we manufacture and construct asphalt pavement.
We have constructed projects with pervious concrete pavement, and worked on LEED Certified Projects.
We have 3 asphalt recycling sites that crush asphalt that was removed from existing highways and parking lots. This Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is used in the manufacture of new asphalt, reducing the demand for virgin aggregate as well as crude oil.
We are constantly seeking ways to reduce our energy consumption and to maximize our environmental stewardship.
If you have any suggestions on how we can be more environmentally responsible please contact Ken Barker at kbarker@sully-miller.com or call (626) 523-1319.
