Sully-Miller is doing its Part in Responsible Construction
Green Construction leads to LEED Silver & Gold in Downtown LA
Sully-Miller recently completed both on-site and off-site (City of Los Angeles B-Permit) improvements for Howard S. Wright's LEED certified condominium projects in Downtown Los Angeles. The three projects; E11even, Luma - and most recently - Evo, all have green constructions' highest recognition of LEED certification.
Sully-Miller Contracting crews contribution included asphalt paving; stamped asphalt crosswalks, cold mill with an asphalt overlay, alleyway asphalt construction, curb & gutter, colored concrete walkways, brick pavers, storm drainage system combining a series of infiltration trenches to accommodate and filter surface water-flow from the street. For the finishing touch, Sully-Miller also installed bike racks, a news stand enclosure, trash receptacles, tree wells, landscaping and irrigation, and a concrete structure for a building logo/name with granite entryway pavers.
Much of the work was specialty concrete, including stained concrete, walkways with a sandblasted finish which exposed aggregates, and colored concrete walkways with an intricate sawcut pattern.
Overseeing the work were Bob Maulucci, Estimator / Project Manager, Mike Love, Project Superintendent, Mauricio Arreola, Project Engineer and Darren Roth, Project Foreman.
