Partnering with the City of Long Beach, Sully-Miller completed Taxiways C & L at the Long Beach Airport.
Sully-Miller reconstructed the taxiways by pulverizing existing asphalt and blending it with the existing base to recycle base, soil cement subgrade and repave with P401 asphalt from Blue Diamond Materials.
Paving at DuskSully-Miller’s crews worked day and night in order to minimize the impact to airport traffic.
Recycling was a major focus on this project for both the cost savings and being environmentally responsible, with over 45,000 yards of recycled base.
Sully-Miller is very experienced in working on airports, as we have worked at most of the airports in Southern California.
Overseeing the work was Ezam Khazini, Los Angeles Area Manager, Frank Gray, Project Superintendent, Travis Clausen, Project Engineer, and Steve Gomez, Project Foreman.
