Sully Miller Contracting Company Breaks Ground on Orange Line Extension
Sully Miller Contracting Company Breaks Ground on Metro Orange Line Extension. This is the first part of the $215.6 million project being funded by Measure R - approved in November 2008 by 67.41 percent of Los Angeles voters. The four mile bus-way will connect the Canoga Park Orange Line Station to the Chatsworth North Parking Lot Station. The ground breaking on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 was attended by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and several members of the Los Angeles City Counsel.
Sully-Miller will build the North Parking Lot. This project includes clearing, demolition, and rough grade of a piece of open land in Chatsworth, CA. We will then perform underground work to install two drainage filters for a storm drain before asphalt paving and laying concrete sidewalks and curb & gutter work. This is a turnkey project where Sully-Miller will be directing subcontractors work in association with our own production. There will be Fencing, Landscape, and Electrical/Lighting subcontractors working under our direction.
We built the first MTA Orange Line station parking lot in Canoga Park about two years back.
