At Blue Diamond Materials, we are extremely conscious of our impact on the environment we all share. For starters, we recycle thousands of tons of asphalt pavement each year. This not only saves valuable materials from ending up in our landfills, but conserves virgin aggregates and actually reuses the petroleum faction of our product.  How? The "glue" that was refined when the recycled pavement was originally produced is reused as new binder material.  This direct reuse reduces the demand for oil imports and produces a product equally to and in some ways superior to 100% virgin asphalt pavement. 

As an asphalt producer, we are an industry leader with all of our asphalt plants having been awarded the National Asphalt Pavement Association's Diamond Achievement Commendation and Diamond Quality Commendation.

We've also pioneered the uses of variable frequency drive motors on asphalt plants, which reduces our electrical demand and consumption.
 
We are currently leading the efforts to introduce Warm Mix Asphalt technology to the Los Angeles Basin and surrounding areas called EcoMat^®.  This process reduces the energy needed to heat asphalt mixes, reduces emissions at both the plant and the jobsite, and ultimately increases the performance of pavement.
