Backpacks for Motel Kids
In mid-September, Sully-Miller donated school supplies and backpacks for children in the Orange County Boys and Girls Club Motel Kids Program. Sully-Miller employees took time out to stuff 160 backpacks full of supplies for deserving children. Employees presented the backpacks to the kids at the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club.The term motel kids describes children who live in motels with their parents, brothers and sisters. These families are one step away from being homeless.
The Anaheim Boys and Girls Club program provides a safe, nurturing environment for all children. Children who belong to the club receive tutoring and homework assistance. They are also taught valuable skills such as community awareness, self esteem, and leadership.
