Sully-Miller Demonstrates Leadership on Climate Change
Road Construction Leader Voluntarily Reports Emissions
LOS ANGELES, California - Sully-Miller has joined the California Climate Action Registry (Registry), a distinguished group of organizations demonstrating leadership by voluntarily taking action on climate change. As a member, Sully-Miller will work with the Registry to annually track, report and certify its greenhouse gas emissions, the main drivers of global warming.
Sully-Miller is a world leader in road construction, supplying construction materials and services for the Southern California region's infrastructure since 1923. The services and products such as aggregates, asphalt concrete, underground, street and highway construction are an essential element in the development of the region.
The Registry, created by the California legislature in 2000, is a non-profit public/private partnership that helps companies and organizations throughout the United States to track, publicly report and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The results are certified by independent third-parties to ensure compliance with Registry protocols and standardization across participants and sectors. The Registry has been widely recognized as a gold standard for public reporting of greenhouse gases.
"Sully-Miller is dedicated to environmentally responsible practices. Participating in the Registry's rigorous program is an important step in taking action to manage our emissions," said Ken Barker of Sully-Miller.
"We are pleased that Sully-Miller, a world leader in road construction, is demonstrating environmental leadership by taking early voluntary action in the area of climate change." said Diane Wittenberg, President of the California Climate Action Registry.
