Sully-Miller Awards & Recognition

Here are just a few of the recent awards the Sully-Miller Companies have received:

In 2008, The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee awarded Blue Diamond Materials the Environmental Innovation Award for demonstrating smart green business practices. Blue Diamond received this award for implementing a new asphalt manufacturing process called Warm Mix Asphalt.  This innovative process requires less heat, thereby reducing the emissions emitted from the mixing and laying of the asphalt and ultimately creating a cooler working environment.

Blue Diamond Materials also received the Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Hilda L. Solis, who is currently the United States Secretary of Labor.

2008 also was the first year that the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce held the environmental award ceremony. All three of Sully-Miller's divisions walked away with an award. United Rock Products received an award for innovative environmental efforts with its "Dust Abatement" program, and Sully-Miller Contracting Company received an award for energy conservation at our Irwindale location.

Not to be outshined, United Rock Products also received a Bronze Medal for Environmental Excellence from the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association in 2008. The award provides national recognition for aggregate producers who are actively contributing to the maintenance of the environment in and around their operations.
