Sully-Miller Hosts a Bowling Outing for Orangewood Foster Care
Sully-Miller Contracting Company sought an organization to support focused on helping underprivileged children. After doing some research with LA County’s Children and Family Services, Sully-Miller discovered the amazing work being done by Orangewood Children's Foundation.
Orangewood Children's Foundation began over 30 years ago with a vision to build a facility to shelter Orange County children who were the victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Orangewood Children’s and Family Center was established to provide a temporary home for foster children who are not yet permanently placed in a home.
On June 1, 2013 Sully-Miller treated the children of Orangewood Foster Care to a day of fun at Lucky Strike in Orange, CA by providing food, drinks, bowling and shoe rentals.
Orangewood Foster Care brought 15 children ranging in ages from 11 to 15 years. Several Sully-Miller employees brought their own children to add to the fun. For many, this was their first time bowling. Since the center is quite committed to a nutritious diet, the children really seemed to love the Lucky Strike hot wings! Sully-Miller ordered several orders for the kids who could not get enough!
It was a great day for all - the children, as well as the volunteers from Sully-Miller had so much fun with the exuberant group.
Cynthia Zamora, Sully-Miller’s A/R Specialist organized the event for Sully-Miller employees and Orangewood Foster Care. She did an excellent job making this a memorable event for employees, their children, and the Orangewood foster kids.
A big Thank You to everyone who volunteered from Sully-Miller:
